There is an urgent requirement of Sr. System and Network Consultant with one of the reputable IT solution providers in Muscat, Oman. Its a contract position for 1 year (renewable for similar period depending upon performance).

Job Description (Summary)

In this role, the candidate will:

 

- Oversee Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), data and voice communication system.

- Responsible for configuring, troubleshooting, monitoring and maintaining the network infrastructure/security.

- Ensure availability of systems, data and voice network infrastructure at all times.

Qualification and Experience

 

-  Master's Degree in Computer Science or IT (Network or Computer Engineering).

-  Professional certifications like CCNP or CCIE (written), MCITP (Windows Server and Exchange Administration) and ITIL.

-  Minimum 7 years of experience in system, data and voice network administration (or a similar role) in a medium or large scale organization.

- At least 5 years of experience in managing Microsoft infrastructure solutions.

Technical Skills

 

-  Solid background and expertise in IP networks.

-  Hands on experience on Cisco switches, routers, firewall, wireless LAN controller, wireless access points.

-  Working knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling infrastructure

- Proven knowledge in OS: Windows Server 2008/2012, Windows 7/8, define domain environment, HW Configuration.

- Considerable knowledge and hands on experience in Microsoft TMG, Exchange 2010 and SCCM environments.

- Experience in configuration of Web and FTP servers.

- Should have sound knowledge on converged Infrastructure such as HP Blade systems & HP Storage technologies and backup software.

- Experience on design, implementation and migration/upgrade virtual infrastructure based on VMware/Hyper-V.

- Complete understanding of DNS, DHCP concepts, Group policy, DFS, WSUS.

Personal Skills

 

- Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
