This position will be responsible for the full architecture, design, implementation, and coordination of the ongoing support of multi-tiered MySQL and PostgreSQL database infrastructures on FreeBSD and Linux based systems. The person in this position will be responsible for the following: | |
» | Analyze the current Postgres SQL database infrastructure |
» | Analyze PostgresSQL database requirements |
» | Identify potential issues and limitations |
» | Diagnose issues in complex application architectures |
» | Improve database infrastructure, architecture, and design |
» | Install, Configure and Administer MySQL |
» | Apply the latest patches and version upgrades |
» | Schedule Backup & Recovery |
» | Set-up and manage Replication |
» | Secure Red Hat's database environment |
» | Benchmark, load test, and optimize critical SQL queries |
» | Proactively manage performance and capacity planning |
» | Implement best practices and recommend tools for managing the existing FreeBSD database infrastructure. |
Requirements: | |
This position will be responsible for all aspects of database administration of MySql and PostgreSQL and developer support for applications administration including: | |
» | Working closely with other team members to identify and implement continuous improvement, new or enhanced measurement reports and effective problem resolution |
» | Establish and implement application infrastructure policies, procedures and standards, and nsure their conformance |
» | Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field |
» | At least 3 years of professional experience in installation, upgrade, migration, cloning, patch application, troubleshooting technical issues and documentation of both MySql and PostgreSQL databases |
» | Certified DBA will be a plus |
» | Strong written and verbal communications skills |
» | Able to work closely with cross-functional teams, applications users and other technical groups |
