Please find the Job Description below: Job Title: Sr. Database Administrator Department: Information Technology Area of Work: Infrastructure and Technical Support Supervisor Job Title: Manager, Infrastructure & System Admin. Job Type: Permanent Purpose of the Job: - To support the Oracle databases and ensuring their performance, availability and security. - To support Oracle ERP applications. - To support Oracle Technology platforms and Application Databases - To achieve advancement of the bank's database architecture strategy Main Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities • Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system. • Work with the team to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and to ensure high availability and optimum performance. • To proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime. • Responsible for providing trend analysis to the service management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management. • Responsible for problem escalation to Development team and third parties as appropriate. • Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades. • Responsible for implementation and release of database changes as submitted by the development team. • Communicating regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security. • A database administrator (DBA) is responsible for the performance, integrity and security of a database • Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades • Responsible to design and implement databases for system and application as per Bank standard. • Any other task assigned by the Line Manager. Typical Experience/Knowledge required for the job: • Engineering degree (preferably in Computers). • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience. • Should have strong technical experience in (Oracle DBA, Oracle Application, SQL and DB2) Database Architect with Data Modeling, RAC, Data Guard, Migration, Tuning and Replication • Installing, configuring and Supporting Oracle Databases on flavor of OS specifically on Windows, Linux and AIX Operating Systems. • Proven Database Administration experience. • Experience on advanced level on Oracle, ASM, RAC and RMAN • Experience of managing multiple RDBMS on large systems. • Experience of working in a team that delivers a high availability and DR service. • Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability and fast throughput service. • Experience of other database systems, preferably SQL Server. • Practical experience in managing the internal and external database security. • Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on Database projects • Experience on Oracle Application servers • Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database • Experience working directly with application project teams and optimizing database program code is highly considered • Experience of working in various Database recovery and data restore methods • Should have experience on Database replication, application SQL statement analysis and tuning techniques. • Good knowledge in Unix shell scripting and automation tasks. • Oracle Certification, preferably OCP. • Good written and oral communication skills. • Ability to communicate both technical and business direction clearly • Desire to independently research next generation database technologies • Ability to translate technical advancements into business value • Strong critical thinking and problem analysis skills • Demonstrated capabilities to as part of a team, and deliver results independently • Experience handling problems and reporting issues to inline management • Ability to successfully organize and prioritize multiple work activities • Ability to work in multi cross functional team structure If the position interests you, kindly revert with the following details: Total Experience: Relevant Experience(Oracle DBA): Db2: ASM: RAC : RMAN: Data Modeling: Current salary: Expected salary: Notice Period: Reason for Change Any offer in hand:(Y/N) Present visa status: Best Regards, Glen Castelino|Recruitment Executive|Finesse P.O.
