JOB DESCRIPTION – RESIDENT ENGINEER (NETWORK)
This position is responsible for the daily monitoring and maintenance of the local and wide, wired and wireless area network. The position carries out installation, testing, and technical tasks in supervision and coordination with network engineering team.
Essential Duties
a) Monitoring, maintenance and configuration of network equipments, the network cabling infrastructure, and other related components.
b) Assists network engineering backend team in performing diagnostics and preventative maintenance to ensure that network systems are operational
c) Assists with network monitoring & management activities to include, but not limited to, maintaining & monitoring of routers, switches, media converters, wireless equipment, network systems logs, network systems performance logs etc
d) Assists in processing work orders directly assigned to the engineering team
e) Assists in maintaining records of work completed and in-progress; and assists in updating network documentation to record installations, upgrades, configurations, etc.
f) Receiving, escalating, resolving service desk tickets
Required Skills
a) Basic understanding of networking, cabling, IT infrastructure and related hardware and software components
b) A strong desire to learn and to overcoming challenging problems in technology
c) Strong technical skills; problem solving and attention to detail A MUST
Experience
Professional or educational experience in information technology, preferably networking, routing, switching, etc.
Education
Engineering Graduate with degree in Electrical, Computer, Telecom or related field
Salary Budget: PKR 20,000 – 25,000/month
