Job DescriptionSystem Analysis & Design Centric Role
· Design, develop and maintain web-based business process and database applications.
· Create functional requirements, prototype new applications to refine requirements.
· Analyze, define and document system requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interfaces with other systems, auditing, reporting requirements and production configuration.
· Write and maintain functional and technical specifications.
· Create test plans, test data sets and automated testing to ensure all components of the system meet specifications.
· Analyze code for problem resolution and performance optimizations.
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documentation, professional journals, technical specifications and project management documentation.
· Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
· Demonstrate ability to develop formal application specifications and project plans using common documentation tools such as Visio, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Project.
· Demonstrate ability to work as part of an application development team; create structured code for integration into larger systems, document work for maintenance in a production environment, create task lists, timelines and deliverables, work to meet project schedules determined by others.
· Coordinate with Business Analysts and customers to develop business requirements and specifications documents.
· Provides end-users supports including business queries and requests

Database / ETL / Business Intelligence Centric role
· Evaluate and design data collection, data staging, data movement, analytics delivery, data
quality and archiving strategies
· Provides reviews of deliverables and identifies gaps/areas for improvement.
· Create scripts and DTS packages for data integration, data maintenance or bug fixes.
· Write SQL statement for ad-hoc report generation.
· Assist in data profiling, source-target mappings, ETL development, SQL tunings and optimization, testing and implementation
· Provides/reviews detailed technical specifications and ETL documentations required in each
· phase of the SDLC, and complies to internal standards and guidelines
· Identify opportunities to optimize the ETL environment, implement monitoring, quality and
· validation processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity
· Maintain business intelligence models to design, develop and generate both standard and ad-hoc reports.
· Develop standard reports based on business requirements.
· Generate reports for internal and external customers for business performance monitoring and business decision making
· Provides overall guidance for data quality and business reporting.
· Develops and documents BI coding and naming standards, templates and metadata.
Provides technical and functional development of reporting solutions and data analysis.
· Ensures BI environment is optimized to address business requirements by designing and creating tables, diagnosing and repairing user and performance issues, and testing, monitoring and tuning software.
· Work in a data warehouse environment that provides data design, database architecture, metadata, and repository creation; analyze and develop complex logical database designs, logical and physical data models, and relational data definitions in support of corporate and customer information systems requirements.
· Identify and resolve information flow, content issues, and the transformation of business requirements into logical data models
· Develop, maintain, and support the enterprise data warehouse system, system/application integration, and corresponding data marts, as well as troubleshoot and tune existing data warehouse applications.
· Develop new or enhanced components of the data warehouse.
· Perform as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agent.
· Possess an understanding of the methodologies and technologies that depict the flow of data within and between technology systems and business functions/operations.
· Conduct research into new data warehouse applications to determine viability for use, as well as assist in establishing development standards.
· Possess the ability to identify opportunities for data redundancy reduction, trends in data users, and single sources of data.
· Evaluate existing subject areas stored in the data warehouse and incorporate existing subject areas into an enterprise model.
· Creates logical data models that accurately represent business requirements.
· Develops standard names & definitions for data stored and used across an application.
· Teaches others the technical and functional knowledge and skills needed to achieve results at the optimum level of performance.
· Works in conjunction with DBAs and other developers to design logical model and physical databases.
