Windows 7 Migration Technician:Requirement for 3 Resources for 3-4 months Project

Kindly find below Helpdesk Engineer for 3-4 months project – Total 3 resources required for Roll out of Windows 7 / Offce 2010 for the client office.

 

 PS : Preference for locally available candidates.

Windows 7 Migration Technician

 

 

Responsibilities

·        Playing key role in migration of client computer systems from Windows XP to Windows 7 platform including but not limited to: hardware setup and installation, OS images and applications installation and connecting PCs to the company network.

·        Following procedures set by Dubai Petroleum to save data, image and restore settings to new or existing computer systems

·        Map network printers, install applications and manage a daily deployment list

·        Act as hands and feet for project team to assess and resolve any issues to complete migrations

·        Document and certify completion of migrations to project team

·        Assist end users and answer end users question where applicable

 

Technical Requirements

·        Familiar with OS platforms and administrative functionalities

·        Able to map network drives, add systems to domain, locates files and troubleshoot associated issues.

·        Able to install memory, software applications, drivers and printers.

·        Able to follow processes and procedures.

·        Ability to lift equipment up to 20 KGs

·        Able to complete replacement migrations by installing new keyboard, mouse, docking stations, power supplies and run cabling.

·        Familiar with Office 2010 how-to

·        Basic knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support.

·        Excellent troubleshooting skills

·        Ability to use DPE IT ticketing system to create, update and close tickets

·        Ability to work first, second, and third shifts, as well as weekends, as necessary, to fulfill coverage.

 

Required Education and Experience:

 

·        Bachelor's Degree in related technical field and 1-6 years of experience in an end user help desk environment; or

·        Associates Degree in related technical field and 4-10 years of experience in an end user help desk environment

 

Preferred Certifications:

·        ITIL Foundation V3

·        CompTIA A+, Network +

·        MCSA/ MCSE
